I’ve had five days to think about how to comment on this episode and for the first time, I could not throw off the wave of emotions that this episode has caused me! So many and hard to put them into the comments about the episode which is characterized by a crackling verve, enriched with humor and action…..

But first things first.

Written by Melissa Glenn, directed by Stuart Gillard, the episode works well running off sparkling and dynamic, embellished with a technical quality that makes it seem almost more a film than the episode of a TV series. Something which we’ve already seen, by Stuart, in the second season.

In short, it shows Catherine and Vincent, Jt and Tess, struggling with their daily lives, which on one hand is certainly not ordinary and on the other hand, represents what each of them has always been prepared to live for.

So, deep down, we always knew that Tess was made for something more than to follow in the footsteps of others, whether they were leaders or relatives.
There has always been in her the makings of a leader, her eyes fixed on the horizon, with strong principles, without worrying about where it will lead.
She already demonstrated at work, on more than one occasion and in her private life, the determination with which she turned the most unlikely stories into the natural outlet for herself.

Schermata del 2015-06-26 23:34:18So a paranoid JT pledged to find out what’s different, what has changed. Does he really surprises us, or like him did we always know that there was nothing ordinary or trivial in him, and the serum was nothing that the factor that has made him known “special”, for better or for worse, as we always wanted him to be ?!
We already know how much it will be exciting and fun discovering with him the awareness of his new self.

Schermata del 2015-06-26 23:35:19As for Catherine and Vincent….oh Catherine and Vincent, what to say? How to say it?

They braved the impossibility of Vincent’s condition, not letting it impede their love which is immense and able to overwhelm any obstacle, but they do desire a “normal” life, in spite of everything.

They accepted that their normality was challenged by the charged-up awareness of being intended for a higher purpose, not free to ignore that their existence was a gift in the service of something more than their individual happiness.

At the same time they have not given up on that happiness , they have not stopped dreaming and live it, while in the delirium of a daily changing all the cards on the table, without which sometimes seem to be more the grip of any certainty.

They fought, they dared, they hoped, dreamed and held firm.
They had courage, they had the courage of wanting each other more than they wanted any other thing.

And they won.

Schermata del 2015-06-26 23:48:20Evil can loom, the danger threatening them, may fear, risk, suffer again.

Surely we will see them again in danger, risking their lives and suffering.
It’s the life.
Their life.
The one in which they consciously chose to honor who they are and what they are capable.
Following them in this episode was hectic and brilliant. we have the strong perception of how something has changed since last season
Hopefully forever.

Schermata del 2015-06-26 23:28:51The sweetness and tenderness that overwhelm us in the opening scene on the couch, the next night on the roof, then the morning in the house boat. Like as with any shared moment, they mirror of their conquests, something that kneeling Vincent on the roof has certainly emphasized, but that was already there with them, on that bench of the East Side, in their “Together”.

Schermata del 2015-06-26 23:23:50They share a love so strong and so true that it removes importance to whatever happens to them because their love is and will be stronger.
The awareness of a love so intense and wonderful is the conquest of a path in which we go with them step by step, sharing their pain, their hope, and the immense joy.
See them now beaming their love, regardless of the difficulties that once would have thickened gray clouds on their certainties, see how their everyday life will never be normal, as “extraordinary” the written word on everything that affects them, tells us clearly how they will travel their journey, wherever destiny will take them, together.
I was reminded of the words of Vincent closing episode “Ever After,” on what was “normal” for Catherine – never turn her back on something so worth fighting for – and how much he loved her for that .
Then his arm behind her back, to protect her always, in her battles as in a walk, and that “Come on kiddo,” that said everything about how much they would have loved each other.

And US ?!
The perception of being almost in a way, like spying on the intimacy of an unique intense happiness.
At the same time, the strong hope of never to be – in a way – in the awareness of fortune occurred in having found this little corner, here, behind the scenes, witnesses and privileged spectators of a wonder so real and so unique.

Endless.

I agree with all of your points. I love how the writers are moving ahead with character development, particularly Tess, who has always been so much more than a sidekick. Showing the challenges that Vincent and Catherine are facing as a couple make them more relatable and real, but we also get to enjoy an epic love story. Shifting JT from his role as best bro/nutty professor to reluctant hero will be fun to watch. Avoid the love triangles, and all will be well…

It’s such a beautiful show. I like that they show how complex a relationship is. Love is not enough you have to work at it and want it too. There’s nothing on the CW like it. So unique in every way
